How the levels build

The same text types recur across Pre-DP → DP1 → DP2 — but never with the same texts, and never at the same depth. The step up between levels is the comprehension level of the texts analysed and the amount written, not 'new' content.
Pre-DP: master the PEAL paragraph → two-paragraph essay
DP1: essay format and analytical method → three-paragraph essay (strong IO preparation)
DP2: deepen analysis → interpret texts under timed conditions and write full essays (Paper 2 focus)

Non-Literary Texts
Literary Texts:
This course focuses on analysis, with demonstrations and practice sessions tailored to different types of non-literary texts. Students will learn how to apply literary and non-literary terms effectively in their analysis.
Following a structure similar to a book-reading course, students will engage in literary text reviews, discussions, essay writing, and vocabulary building. (Note: Texts may change if the majority of students have already read the listed works.)
Planned texts include:
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings
Fahrenheit 451 · The Metamorphosis
A Raisin in the Sun · Lord of the Flies
